A Friend once told me this revelation he had after listening to a popular Joey Bada$$ song titled "For my people". He quotes the lyrics in the song "music is a form of expression, I'mma use mine just to teach you a lesson". From this, he tells how he came to this conclusion that "emotion is the rawest form of art". This statement was so riveting to me. In a very dramatic sense, every part outside of ourselves is a reflection of the inside. It's the fact that everything that I create is an illusioned reproduction of who I am. From this inner mind-blow, I came to my own conclusions. The best art comes from the most vulnerable part of ourselves. However, it's not just the ability to be vulnerable that enables creation. It's the ability to mold that feeling into a medium that can best reflect how we experience our lives. The journey to creativity is finding how to get to the root of ourselves and tailoring what we find into our own masterpiece.
