I got to conduct a mini ethnography on Latin music for my world cultures of the world-class. I completed my research by attending the U.N.C.G. event "Noche Con S.A.L.S.A" (Evening with S.A.L.S.A). S.A.L.S.A is an acronym that stands for the Spanish American Latino Student Association here on U.N.C.G.'s campus. This event was not only focused on music but also celebrated the various dance styles, foods, and histories of the Latinx community. For my ethnography, I intended to find ways that music and culture intertwined and distinguished the various identities inside the Latinx community. I plan to study abroad in South America soon, and I believe attending this event would lay a good foundation for things I may encounter.
